You can request an evaluation version of iLCsetup.exe by contacting Iterate Control. This is a unified installation program that will install the correct package (32 bit or 64 bit) and install the correct version of MATLAB Compiler Runtime at the same time.
For more information, please go to the Contact Us page.
Prerequisites – MATLAB Compiler Runtime
iLC is developed using MATLAB, a mathematical computing programming language. It needs MATLAB Compiler Runtime (MCR) version 7.14 or above to run. MCR is included with the iLC software package - you do not need to buy MATLAB to run iLC.
MATLAB Compiler Runtime installation is offered as an option during iLCsetup. If you already have MCR version 7.14 installed you do not need to install it again – simply deselect the MCR Installation option.
Evaluation
iLC needs a license file to activate all features and operate correctly. This license file is not included in the download package.
iLC will run with no license installed for evaluation purposes, however the software will issue a warning and be feature-limited. In evaluation mode you are limited to 1 channel and up to 3 iterations per session. You can delete iterations during a session and run the evaluation copy as many times as you like.
Once you have completed your evaluation, please contact our sales team to discuss pricing of iLC licenses and use the Register menu function to obtain a license.
Licenses
iLC uses license protection via license files. Licenses are linked to a specific user and computer and cannot be used on different machines. Without a license the software runs in feature-limited evaluation mode.
To obtain a license:
- Install the Full Version Software on the PC that you will be using and run iLC using either the desktop icon or link in the Iterate Control programs menu.
- iLC will show a warning when you start the program that it “could not open license file: license.dat”. Click on OK to acknowledge.
- iLC will run in evaluation mode until you have installed a license.
NB: Some features may not operate completely or correctly in evaluation mode. - Click on the Register menu option and select E-mail (automatic). Complete your user information and click OK. Your license request will be sent to Iterate Control automatically. If you have not already paid for a license a member of the sales team will contact you.
Your license will be sent as an attachment to an email message. Make sure that you keep a copy of this email for future reference. Save the license file into your Program Files folder (usually c:\Program Files\Iterate Control\iLC vx.x) and restart iLC.
Volume licensing is available for multiple installations of iLC on the same site or in the same organisation. Please contact our sales team for more information.
32 or 64 Bit
iLC is available for both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows. Most recent versions of Windows (XP, Vista, 7, Server 2003) exist in both 32 bit and 64 bit versions.
If you are running a 32 bit version of Windows, you MUST use the 32 bit version of iLC. If you are running a 64 bit version, you can often use either version of iLC but the 64 bit version may execute more quickly. Some newer 64 bit versions may not have 32 bit support installed (WOW is an option).
You can identify which version of Windows you are running by clicking on the Start menu, finding the Computer or My Computer icon, right-clicking the icon and selecting Properties. In Windows 7, the Properties page will say if you are running a 32 bit or 64 bit version. Windows XP and Windows Vista will usually only say if you are running a 64 bit version; if it says nothing then you are almost certainly running a 32 bit version.
