The full installation bits are not yet available for download, so new users should install v1.3.5 from iLCsetup.exe, then immediately download and run iLCupdate.exe.

iLCIM (32 and 64 bit versions) allows you to generate a System Model from a drive and a response file. Command line options include the search path for files, file names, generated model filename and silent or verbose modelling.

iLCGD (32 and 64 bit versions) allows you to generate a Drive File from a model and desired response file. Command line options include the search path for files, generated drive file name, previous drive and previous response files (for iteration) and a range of filter options. Iteration algorithm (generalised or inverse), gain types and gain factors can all be set from the command line.

Both programs have command line help (/? option).

iLCIM and iLCGD are license controlled and use the same license file as you install for iLC itself – no additional license fee is payable.

This version addresses usability concerns that became apparent during our recent visit to China. In particular difficulties encountered with poor Internet connectivity (for version checking and updating) have been resolved. Furthermore issues with scaling in some file format conversions have been addressed.

Most visible changes are the expanded Home Screen layout (to provide room for additional features planned in version 1.4) and a more logical process flow from System Modelling through to Iteration. More information on Desired Response file characteristics and Auto Filter status are available on the Home Screen without needing to go into the menu structure.

Rig characteristics are now called out in a separate screen panel preparatory to two big changes planned for version 1.4 – the ability to store rig configuration and limits information in separate configuration files, and the ability to read channel information and limits directly from compatible controllers to reduce set up time for new tests.

Finally the Coherence Weighting and Gain Autoscale features added in version 1.3.3 have been removed as a revised internal scaling algorithm has rendered these features redundant. iLC now provides more stable convergence across a wide range of input/output scales.

This is the final slipstream release for level 1.3 of iLC. We hope to release Version 1.4 later in the autumn together with a list of compatible controller hardware. We also have exciting plans for convergence of iLC with a market-leading design and fatigue management platform!

Coming hot on the heels of version 1.3.3 released last week, v1.3.4 adds an important new usability feature to bring the power of iLC to the broadest possible range of testing users. Coupled with the active Home Screen of v1.3.3, the New Project Wizard and advanced system features like Drive AutoScale, iLC is now one of the most feature-rich drive file generators on the market and is still one of the most affordable.

The most important new features in this release include:

• The ability to view displacement data in terms of resultant acceleration and acceleration data and resultant acceleration.  So if you have accelerometer data from a speciment, iLC will infer actual displacements and vice versa.  This is a powerful tool in rig design and commissioning.  These features are available in the Plot Scale menus of Create Identification Drive and Edit Desired Response.
• The ability to recall plots of identification drive and response files from the main screen.  Similarly all other file operations (load, save, clear and plot) are available from buttons on the main screen.
• New Autoscale and Coherence weighting options in Operator set up and Drive File Generation.  Coherence weighting allows you to fine tune the operator within a filter range to optimise convergence in relatively well behaved models.  Autoscale improves convergence where there is a large difference in scaling between drive and response files.

Version 1.3.3 also adds a “New Project Wizard” that guides novice users through new project set up from loading a Desired Reponse file through to generating a System Model.

We have also added an update version of iLC – which you can download as iLCupdate.exe – which performs an in-place refresh of the iLC program files.  Previously it was necessary to uninstall the previous version before running the setup program.  Version 1.3.2 also rolls up a number of minor usability fixes such as frequency filtering in Set Operator.

We are now working hard on two new usability features:

1. A new Project Setup Wizard which will guide users through the process of setting up a project and identifying the rig model.
2. An auto-tune feature to set frequency filters automatically as a function of the system model coherence level.

It has also given us an opportunity to eliminate some integration bugs in the 30.4.11 build (System Ident failed on Plot Model, cumulative error in Error Norm curve in Generate Drive when changing Operator type).
